Federal status, strong industry interest and a record exhibition: what to expect from the ENERGOPROM 2026 forum

From 1 to 3 April 2026 the Kazan International Electric Power Forum ENERGOPROM will be held in Tatarstan. What awaits forum participants was discussed at a press conference.

The press conference was opened by Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Eduard Sheremetsev (via videoconference). In his address he stressed the importance of the upcoming event and the role of the Republic of Tatarstan in the forum's development. He recalled that the Russian Ministry of Energy has approved a list of key industry events in which the ministry takes an active part as organiser and co-founder. Russian Energy Week remains the main platform. At the same time, following the visit of Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivilev to Kazan last year, a decision was taken for the Russian Ministry of Energy to join the co-organisers of the ENERGOPROM forum. According to Eduard Sheremetsev, the forum demonstrates a high standard of organisation and considerable international potential. This year the number of participants has almost doubled. The forum will be held with the participation of Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergei Tsivilev. The Deputy Minister also noted that the Russian power industry today faces serious challenges — the development of technology and industry and growing electricity consumption. In this context the Ministry of Energy is launching a new investment cycle under the approved industry development strategy. "The ENERGOPROM forum, which will take place from 1 to 3 April in the Republic of Tatarstan, will allow participants to find new partners, discuss the existing technological challenges and identify ways to address them", he stressed.

The keynote report was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko. He said that in 2026 the forum programme includes 43 business programme events and 22 events within the Youth Day, while the forum will be structured around eight key thematic tracks, covering state policy, business development, science, human resources and the attraction of investment. The first day of the forum will be devoted to the specialised industry agenda, including panel sessions on the development of the power industry, the formation of the industry order book and digitalisation. 2 April will be the key day, when the official opening of the forum and the main events will take place with the participation of Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivilev. That day will feature: — the plenary session "GOELRO Version 2.0: The Revival of a Legend"; — a meeting of the Russian State Council Commission on Energy; — a meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council. Particular attention in the programme will be given to the development of domestic power engineering manufacturing, the creation of fully localised generation, and international cooperation, including with the countries of the CIS, the SCO, BRICS, ASEAN and the states of Africa. "Today we see that the world's energy sector has problems with energy resources, oil and gas, while we have all of this of our own. We can make our power industry so competitive that we will be able to outpace the entire world," Oleg Korobchenko said. "Energy resources are the main thing in the production of any goods. And the task the Russian Minister of Energy has set the country is not simply to supply the country with electricity, but to make it so competitive that our industry and our goods are the most competitive in the world. That is why we must use this platform for our power industry to develop and to extend its capabilities to neighbouring countries and friendly regions. And then everyone around us will rally together." The third day of the forum will be Youth Day, with interactive formats planned that provide for direct dialogue between young professionals and representatives of energy companies. In the run-up to the forum, from 16 to 31 March, the educational project "Russian Engineering School" is also to be held across all regions of the country together with the Russian Znanie Society. Schools will host classes on the history and development of the power industry, and tours of energy facilities will be arranged.

The specialised power industry exhibition was presented by the CEO of the Industrial Development Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan JSC, Marat Bukharaev. He noted that even at the preparation stage the exhibition is showing strong interest from the professional community. The total area of the exhibition pavilion is 10,000 sq m. Meanwhile, bookings already cover almost 80% of the space. The volume of exhibition space sold to date exceeds the scale of the entire exhibition last year by 20%, which clearly confirms the growing interest in the forum and its exhibition. Participants come from more than 20 Russian regions, including Moscow, St Petersburg, the Republic of Tatarstan, the regions of the Volga area, the Urals, Siberia and the south of the country, as well as three foreign countries — China, the Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic. The Republic of Belarus, for example, plans an exposition of more than 100 sq m that will house seven Belarusian companies. A special place will be given to the "Supplier Days" format involving Rosatom, Inter RAO and RusHydro, and to other special business formats. "Manufacturers will have the opportunity to speak directly with the decision-makers at the largest companies and to put their proposals to them. This format has already proved its effectiveness and was noted by the Minister of Energy as being in demand and productive. We believe it should be expanded, which is why we are integrating it into the exhibition programme, so that the exhibition is not merely a venue with stands but a living space for meetings, negotiations and concrete decisions," said Marat Bukharaev. In closing the press conference, the speakers recalled the results of last year's forum: 10,000 participants, 7,000 sq m of exhibition space, 20 Russian regions and 7 countries, 90 exhibitors, 232 business meetings and 10 agreements signed. The organisers expressed confidence that ENERGOPROM 2026 with its federal status will not only maintain but exceed these figures, strengthening the forum's standing as one of the country's leading industry platforms.
