On 2 April 2026, the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre hosted the opening ceremony of the Kazan International Electric Power Forum ENERGOPROM.
The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergei Tsivilev, Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich, energy ministers of the CIS countries and other foreign states, as well as representatives of federal agencies and heads of the largest Russian and foreign companies.
Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergei Tsivilev delivered a welcoming address. He noted that this year the ENERGOPROM Forum had been granted federal status and had considerably expanded its significance both for Russia and on the international stage. According to him, the forum is a platform not only for discussing the future of the energy industry, but also for showcasing the results already achieved and the industry's practical solutions. The Minister paid particular attention to the growing interest in the forum, to closer cooperation with equipment manufacturers and to the importance of the youth agenda. “By decision of the Ministry of Energy, this forum has become federal. It has grown and has gained enormous significance not only within Russia, but also abroad. Today at the forum we are showing what we have achieved, what we are capable of and how we are moving forward”, Sergei Tsivilev said.
In his address, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich underlined the importance of international cooperation in the energy sector and noted the high level of interaction between the countries. He highlighted the development of joint projects, the exchange of technologies and the shaping of a common energy space, which helps to make the industry more resilient and to strengthen economic ties. It was also noted that platforms such as the ENERGOPROM Forum play an important role in working out coordinated solutions and in developing partnerships between states and companies.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov noted that the ENERGOPROM Forum is becoming one of the key platforms for discussing the future of the energy industry alongside the tasks of technological sovereignty and leadership. He emphasised the rapid development of Russia's domestic power equipment manufacturing: last year the industry's enterprises increased production volumes by 10%. According to him, this is directly reflected in the scale of the forum's industrial exposition, which features modern developments and equipment, including examples of gas turbines and electrical engineering solutions.
In his address, Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasised that in recent years the ENERGOPROM Forum has considerably strengthened its standing and has become an important federal platform for discussing key issues in the development of the industry. He noted the contribution made by federal agencies and partners to the growth of the forum and singled out the role of the energy sector as the foundation of economic growth and quality of life. “We must always understand that quality of life means the economy, and the economy means energy!”, Rustam Minnikhanov said.
The forum's organising committee expressed its gratitude to the general partner, Novikombank JSCB, the core bank of the Rostec State Corporation. At the end of the official part, the forum was declared open. Participants were invited to take part in the business sessions and to explore the exhibition displays. The event brought together leading equipment manufacturers and suppliers, energy corporations and holding companies, and power system enterprises of Russia, the Republic of Tatarstan and foreign states. The guests of honour also toured the specialised electric power exhibition, where more than 100 companies are presenting modern technology solutions and equipment for the energy industry.
From 1 to 3 April 2026, Kazan Expo hosted the Kazan International Electric Power Forum ENERGOPROM, organised jointly with the Russian Ministry of Energy and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
