On 1 April the Kazan International Electric Power Forum ENERGOPROM opened at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre. The business programme comprised 21 events, including 6 federal and 15 regional sessions.
The key event of the day was a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan devoted to the implementation of the state programme "Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Republic of Tatarstan" and to the objectives for 2026. Representatives of federal and regional authorities took part in the discussion, including Eduard Sheremetsev, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation. The meeting addressed the development of the power industry, improvements in energy efficiency, cooperation between the federal centre and the regions, and practical experience in delivering industry projects. As is customary, an awards ceremony was held for the winners of the competition for the best achievements in energy saving and energy efficiency in 2025. The awards were presented by Alexey Pesoshin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan. Other key events were also held with the participation of federal experts: — the panel discussion "Tactics for Strategy. Implementation of the General Scheme"; — a session on the cybersecurity of critical energy infrastructure; — a discussion of the industry's workforce potential and the training of specialists for the power industry of the future; — the panel discussion "Digital Power Industry", devoted to the digital transformation of the sector. Particular attention was paid to technological development, staffing and the digitalisation of the power industry. The specialised electric power exhibition also opened on the first day. Its exhibitors were 117 companies, including 13 from abroad. The exhibition covers more than 20 Russian regions, as well as China, the Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic. Its total area exceeds 8,000 sq m. The forum venue became a place of active business engagement: talks and meetings between representatives of companies, government bodies and educational institutions took place throughout the day. The forum continues on 2 and 3 April. The programme includes key events with the participation of Sergei Tsivilev, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, among them the plenary session and meetings of the specialised commissions, as well as a youth day.
