Environmentally clean CHP plant project proposed for presentation at the ENERGOPROM 2026 forum

A regular meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding was held today at the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Also taking part in the meeting was Prime Minister of the Republic Alexey Pesoshin.

The meeting reviewed projects of interest to the petrochemical and oil and gas industries, the power sector and mechanical engineering.

One of the key items was a report by the Chief Researcher at the Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) Oleg Popel. He presented a project for environmentally clean thermal power plants and energy technology complexes based on a high-efficiency thermodynamic cycle.

The main objective of the development is to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere and improve fuel efficiency through the combined generation of heat and electricity. According to the speaker, the technology makes it possible to significantly increase the energy output and environmental sustainability of generating facilities.

Oleg Popel proposed exploring opportunities for scientific and technical cooperation with scientific and industrial enterprises of Tatarstan on individual components of the energy technology complex.

Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov noted the high potential of the project presented and stressed its relevance to the development of modern power engineering. He proposed presenting the initiative at the ENERGOPROM 2026 international electric power forum, which will be held in Kazan from 1 to 3 April.

The forum will serve as a platform for discussing advanced technological solutions aimed at improving the efficiency and environmental performance of the power industry.
